I expected to hear an improvement, but honestly, I couldn't hear any difference compared to running them on the floor. And what did they do to the sound?Guy
This piece on cables has a section on them:Anyone tried them? What difference did they make?
I actually did exactly this with speakers. The pair in question had me trying any and every type of isolation to try and decouple them from my suspended floor. I eventually sold them, nothing new there, but that method did seem to work better than the others I tried at the time.I think anything will do.Lifting my distribution block off the floor helped the sound. It's on a piece of wood with downward facing screws through it which fit into posidrive screws which are screwed into my floorboards.

Yeah - a right orgy down the back of my racks.Sadly my cables are such a mess there's no way cable lifters could help them. But the Nordost demo at Whittlebury last year showed very clearly how stabilising cables could positively benefit a system.
A mere six inches behind the cabinet is all that's required for my daughter to "manage" the cables behind my equipment rack.Prime requirement is a clear metre behind the Hi Fi cabinet to allow me to manage the cables.
