CD / SACD player advice

Oh knowledgeable folk:  

There is a Marantz SA7001 KI Signature SACD player on eBay that I have been watching which looks in great order and has what seems be be a reasonable buy it now price at £399.   

Does anyone have any experience of this model and indeed have a view on how its performance  might compare might compare to my Avondaled Arcam Alpha 5+?

I've had a Marantz SA14S1 special edition for a few years now. i was stunned by how good it was. i compared it with Simaudio Moon Equinox, which is a brilliant cd player, but the Marantz is a cut above. I've said it before, i wish i had bought Marantz stuff a long time ago. to me, its that good!

Imagine the 7001 is decent but £399 seems strong to me, should be able to get an 8005 for that sort of money. Will sound better and more flexible with it's digital inputs
