I think that Gordan was talking about some Celestion compression drivers being very linear; not sure which ones. If they come cheap, they might be a bargain...

The choice of a 5" midrange driver mirrors the Slimline Edgarhorn. There is a celestion Comp that is a rebadged BMS - that might be the one you are thinking of, though the model number didnt ring a bell with me.

Could be quite a good pair of speakers, depending on the money..DIY stuff doesnt attract a premium price on eBay. Might go for 100 the pair.

we measured celestion 1415 in le cleach 800 horn. it's about 80 pounds per peice and it measures very good. soundwise it's pretty lean and dry - it would need lots of colorful components behind.

unfortunately i know nothing about the CD driver in the mentioned speaker.
