I have been investigating the possibilities of doing this and have spoken to Johnie at AO. He believes it is perfectly doable. Problem is he is in Scotland and I am close to London. To remove the Arm I would need to de-solder and then re-solder on return something I am not comfortable with.

So my question is, do you know anyone in the London area who is proficient with changing/modding tone arms. I would need to deliver the whole turntable (not by courier) so they would to be within a couple of hours of North London.

Any suggestions.

I like valves.

Certainly do-able but the effective mass of the arm will change. Walrus Systems are in New Quebec Street in London if that helps. They have a tech chap called Pete I think.

I know Walrus quite well and although they are very knowledgeable I doubt this would be a job for them they would almost certainly pass this one back to AO, so same problem. I could be wrong so has to be worth a call I guess.
