I had some caash burning a hole in my pocket following the sales of some kit, not much around £750. So I bought a Pioneer 9500ii amp as i was after a bit more power to drive my Aegis Evo's, then i decided i wanted to try a valve amp amd bought a Reissong A10 which I absolutely love, trouble os it only has 2 line level insputs and really need 3 + phono.
So my thoughts are to sell my Pioneer amp ( and my Pro-ject xp2 TT) to fund either a pre-amp or phono amp. Assuming I get what im after for both then hopefully i should have around £700 plus whatever i can save up each month through 2 " save the change " accounts that round up each days spending to the next £1 and adds it to the accounts.

I use a Sony PS X600 Biotracer with an XL50 mm cart atm, but will eventually look for a MC when funds allow

What would be the best route ?
What kit would you suggest?

My fav music is 70s soul, Northern soul ( poor recordings) Reggae, Bigband swing / American standards

Cheers

Stewart

If your other 2 sources (currently using the 2 inputs) are digi out via rca coax then I have a 2 :1 bi-directional 16458957052702504299707603858383.jpg coax switch you can have. This would give you an input back for your tt.
PM yer addy and I'll get it posted off.

  • Separate Phono stage putting out line level
  • Nobsound 4-i/p line level switch box from Amazon (with volpot if needed)
Job done. Or, various combinations of line level switch boxes plus the choice of i/p on your amplifier. Keep the phono stage separate, do all your source switching at line level.

Hi
Thanks for the offer, I have a 4 way phono switchbox.
I also have a couple of spare inputs on the pioneer in using a a pre.

My real question is longterm, do I get a separate phono amp direct to the tube amp, use my switch box for all other line level inputs or carry on using the pioneer amp as a pre, (ultimately for the phono input) & a CDR or look at investing in a quality pre use a switching box for line level and sell my pioneer?
