Hi

Hope all are well

I have just purchased a second hand Michell Focus t/t

Xmas present for me. Bought from eBay from a "dealer" that said it had been through his workshop. Switched it on and noticed a mechanicall vibration, you can actually feels this when you place a finger on the knob, the platter is touching the plinth.

So i took the plinth off and the spinde & bearing are wobbling sideways and up and down - is this normal?

Any pointers / suggestions most welcome, have not been able to contacted the seller yet

Kind regards

jonny

Does it require oil where the spindle locates? My Michell Gyro does.

Perfect, apparently.

HiFi Trade?
  1. No
Was it sent assembled? That is, with the bearing in it's housing and the platter on? That could have caused damage if it was thrown about.

I would contact the seller first ,

if you don't and start stripping it down that will void any warranty you may have had

Thanks for the input chaps

It was packed for transit fully assembled etc, my wife collected it etc

Have moved it into another room with a different amp, it still has this vibration but not as much?? can feel it through the on/off knob

Nothing looks wrong etc - untrained eyes though

Building up to speaking to the seller

Thanks

jonny
