After recently picking up hiswonderful year 2000recording of the Bach viola da gamba sonatas with Ton Koopman, I can't wait for this gig.

Though has to be said it's not my favourite one - that goes to Lenohard and Kuijken (vinly from sometime in the 80s followed by a little known Philips recording by Cervena and Puyana. Yoyo Ma's version on cello isn't bad (he really 'get' bach I think)certainly compared to thetotally surreal version on cello and piano by Glen Gould and Leonard Rose.
I also have Koopman's version on vinly of the same music for organ (trio sonata arrangements) together with the schubler chorales. Truly awesome.
Any other viola da gamba fans out there? I'm big also on the Buxtehude op 1 and 2 (my favourite being the version by the Boston Museum Trio).
