Have I missed something on this as it appears to be a Pre Amp ADC not a DAC ?

[It Cost How Much!?!]

Looks like a DAC with a volume control. 

When ever I have heard these (always seems to be with hORNS speakers), there is a big fat bottom end that is indistinct and not much top end.

Build quality looks a tad shoddy too, I fail to see why there is so much love for these.

I borrowed one a few years ago, it is very good. In my system:

Audio Note 2.1 Sig > Border Patrol DAC > Schitt Yggy = Lampizator L4G5.

Although for classical music it was a touch magical, loved it.

we had one here with the logans for an afternoon with , dac with pre amp , it was pretty magical 

only downside is its hard to keep up with their level this and  generation that !!

there is massive amount of love for the brand , 7 pages on one forum 

f you haven't done this yet, I recommend Lampizator. I owned the DAC2x and once I received our Lampizator Golden Gate I was floored by the performance. We just received the Amber 3 DAC and I can't believe how well this little Lampizator performs like it's more expensive partners in the Lampi...
