My new toy a Levitator arm lift, I Had an Audio technica at6006a for years it died (my fault lubricated it) whilst the levitator does not have the damped action of the AT there is no tendency to launch my Hadcock and Music maker skywards, indeed very gentle, it works perfectly and has a myriad of height permutations important on my Michell Hydraulic Reference. I am very pleased with it...

Perfect, apparently.

I used to have the AT lift. I sent it back to be fixed, and they gave me a refund instead! Damn.

Now I have an old magnetic lift, can't remember what it's called, but it's moved from arm to arm over the years.

Ha, had something similar back in the original days of vinyl. It requires a bit of force that's lateral to the stylus to actuate - am I correct?

Not sure I'd use one on my nowadays much more expensive carts...

Since the trip does not happen till the run out grooves the arm is accelerating so side force on stylus assembly is minimal & the lift is gentle. A new Music Maker would not be cheap to re tip let alone replace
