Hi, I was hoping you guys could help me.
I've really weird problem with a linn majik ip amplifier.
I got it secong hand as "broken" for a bargain price - 50 quid.
It turns on and amplifies beautifully but kind of "hangs" when trying to use the front panel. By that, I mean you switch it on and it's OK, then after about 10 seconds it just sticks on the volume, input etc. If I leave it a while or have audio running when you switch it on it's fine. Without audio I can hear it popping, with audio it doesn't.
I recapped most of it as I had to leave the two main 10000uf 63v caps in place until I get some new ones that are the right dimensions. I also replaced two output transistors that were a bit suspect.
I've checked the control panel, transistors, fuses etc but can't figure it out.
It also seems to dim the display when I press a button.
I wondered if anyone has any idea what I'm missing or (even better) had a schematic /service manual.
