Mod approved - illuminated 'Now Spinning' LP stand feedback

HI,

As per thread title , I am considering making illuminated LED 'Now Spinning' LP stands and am looking for constructive feedback - both good and bad from vinyl enthusiasts such as yourselves.

They are made from 5mm clear acrylic which slots into a solid beech low voltage LED base powered by a standard USB lead/plug (the same as a mobile and are CE certified for sale in the UK) giving off a warm white light. I have attached a couple of quickly taken pics using an LP I borrowed from a charity shop warehouse on my estate). I am aware that there are wooden stands out there already but I haven seen any illuminated acrylic versions.

Size and dimensions vary dependant on what would be engraved onto the acrylic. These can be personalised to a certain extent with names or small photos depending on the individual request.

So, I am after any and all feedback, good or bad, as to the general consensus as to if this is:

• a good or bad idea?
• would you buy/want one?
• basic design feedback such as 'Now Spinning' or 'Now Playing'

For me personally it's where to put it as you need 12" of clearance around it & I can't achieve that on my hifi rack

I would potentially be interested. A couple of questions if I may:

Would it take the weight of a sleeve with an LP in it without tipping over? I have more than a few double/triple LPs, and actually standing the cover with the other LPs in it would be quite handy.

Could it be dimmable? Or ordered with a relatively low level.

Any rough price indication?

Also, when I read “spinning“ or “playing” I will assume it is doing so now, so maybe “now“ is not necessary

I love the effect light can have on your mood ..
You could use the Phillips Hue system as this allows you to change the colour of the effect ..
I had it integrated into my “Stereogram “
Even the bottom of the unit lights up .. very effective in an evening
