I read that Shane Warne has died, aged 52. This was on the Racing Post website (Shane was a keen racegoer and was captain of the Rest Of The World jockeys team on Shergar Cup Day at Ascot.)

A real shock . Shane Warne was the greatest spin bowler who ever turned their arm, and there's been some great ones. I can still recall that "ball of the century" like it was yesterday. They played Richie Benaud's commentary of that delivery on the radio yesterday, it's a masterclass in understatement.

Rod Marsh was a brilliant wicket keeper and top coach too. Both played the game in the right spirit too.

Very sad news indeed to lose a great cricketer and superb commentator in Shane Warne
sad too that another great Rodney Marsh has left us
and we lost Sonny Ramadhin too
The world doesn’t seem a great place at the moment.
