Am dithering about whether or not to ship some floorstanding speakers from the US to UK. These are big and heavy, and I got them fairly cheap (but like them...) - am I likely to be looking at more than GBP 100 to do this, or can anyone suggest a cheap shipping service?

Thanks,

Jon

Cheers. That seems to be UK to US, though (though a good price!); anyone know a company working the other way...

Jon, what size of speaker & weight are they, plus the value sir please

Different shippers, have different break points on weight and value.

Might be able to offer some advice.

Thanks. Just downloaded a specs list

Weight apparently about 10kg, internal volume 29.1l (need to get a measuring tape to measure the outside).

Value is one of these 'how long is a piece of string' type questions. Got them pretty cheap from a guy who wanted rid of them, but to get one of allison acoustic's speakers new would cost a lot - around $1k for a floorstander, I think... Would probably insure them for a mid-way point - $500, say...

EDIT- btw, they're allison CD7 speakers

I would try Bax Global, Last pair of speakers I shipped (personally) were 220 kg's and air freight insured 3 day was $410

So I would expect around the £140-170 mark Jon
