Yes yes, I know BT is not real Hi-Fi, but I tried 10 or more BT recievers and they all crapped out when more than a few M from the unit. This was a few yrs ago, but then I heard about the BM-10 - claiming 100m of range. Well, it's been in my system, for ~5yrs now and faultless - never a hic / fart or dropout. . It easily allows me to stream from my ipad to it 75+m away through multiple walls.. etc etc.

Sony discontinued it, but has anyone heard of a more modern version with BT5.0 etc with similar range ?

I suspect that any Wi-Fi– or Ethernet–able receiver will do the trick, so long as you have coverage in all areas where you wish to control or stream from.
