I know jazz is a very broad church and some of this may be stretching the concept but I can't remember a year like this for the sheer number of top quality new releases and predominantly from young, UK acts.
In no particular order and these are only the ones I know about:
1. Black Focus - Yussef Kamal
2. The Source - Tony Allen
3. Juan Pablo: The Philosopher - Ezra Collective
4. Nubya's 5ive - Nubya Garcia
5. Trudy's Songbook (vols 1 and 2) - Ruby Rushton
6. Idiom - Joe Armon Jones and Maxwell Owin
7. Yellow Ochre - Vels Trio
8. La Saboteuse - Yazz Ahmed
9. Exodus - Moses Boyd
10. Journey to the Mountain of Forever - Binker & Moses
11. Harmony of Difference - Kamasi Washington
12. Rise - Zara Macfarlane
13. Astral Progressions - Josef Leimberg
14. Inspirations - Dwight Trible with Matthew Halsall
A good few of these I've managed to see live and they sure can play.
