Some of us strive to eliminate vibrations affecting components - from amps to speakers to our turntables etc.

For those who really want to understand or measure the affect of any treatments they wish to apply you can download Vibration Analysis Apps to your Mobile phone which will then measure vibration and give you a  reading ..

So place it on your turntable platter and play music via another source to see how much vibration is fed back to your turntable .. or place on top of your loudspeakers playing music at your normal listening level before trying isolation methods, and then after application and see how much you have actually reduced the vibrations.  Do the same with it on top of your amplifier  and again playing music from another source do the same with it on top of your cd player.

The necessary apps can be found here for those who really want to know how effective their isolation methods have been ... that should keep a few people occupied over the next few months lol

Brilliant thank you! Going to have a play with this when I get home. I've recently been thinking of new stands and herbies feet for the speakers. Be interesting to see if I really need any of it.

There are a number of accelerometer apps available.  Just pick the one that suits you the best, and has the least annoying adverts!  I use the one called Accelerometer Meter from keuwlsoft. https://appgrooves.com/android/com.keuwl.accelerometer/accelerometer-meter/keuwlsoft
Agreed - I was hoping that those who propose the theory of measurement first would have grasped this and given us their findings - quite frankly I cannot be arsed as to my ears my system sounds fine.  Perhaps ignorance is bliss   :bouncey:

Yes, now that some phones have accelerometer apps, it's time for audiophiles to measure shock mounts. Make a DIY shaker table out of a large low budget sub-woofer and start measuring.
