Wammers Album Club 2019 #6, Prince Fatty Vs Mungo’s HiFi

 Hi folks,

Mine is Prince Fatty Vs Mungo’s Hifi, which is an album I found by accident whilst on a pub crawl for my bday a few years back. I walked into a different pub, went to pool table to play with a mate - this came on (Under Arrest - Track 4, which is also my favourite tune) and I walked straight up to bar to ask what it was and bought it then and there. 

I’ve since bought it for various family and friends. This is an absolute cracker of an album (in my opinion). 

As a side note - I’m off to see Mungo’s HiFi live at a festival in a couple of months time.

This one needs to be played LOUD!

My youngest loves this kind of stuff and has this album so I have heard it from time to time at his house and in his car.  Does nothing for me at all I'm afraid but my son gives it a 5 *

I'm like a fish out of water with this , it's ok I can listen to it , a bit much altogether but the odd track thrown in amongst other stuff is very acceptable , 2/5 from me .

This one is a reggae/dub bassy toe-tapper, if you’ve not already heard it.

Not a genre I listen much too, so can't really proffer an opinion. Seems to bounce along quite happily.

I like Hollie Cook, who adds vocals on one of the tracks and is part of the same label, but didn’t really get into the whole album. There’s nothing unlistenable but equally I heard nothing that made me want to rush out and buy the album. 3/5

I love a bit of proper old-stylee roots, but I'm not sold on this. There are some decent enough tracks, but I found it a bit too 'light'. A bit too fun and bouncy for me. Horsemove and Herbalist are my choices from it, but I couldn't listen to it for long without it getting on my nerves and wishing to hell that someone else was doing the vocals and that it was all a bit rougher. Good effort, but has to be a 2 out of 5 from the East Midlands jury.
