Does look pretty good value, even if the IP might be somewhat questionable...

Bit home-made though isn't it?

I realise it's not far off Well Tempered's golf ball arm (is that what's on the Amadeus?) but the counterweight for example is just off some garrard arm or something, something I recognise anyway.

It's from a Goldring Lenco GL75/78.

And looks to be the best bit...

It really pisses me off when people steal designs like this. What happened to being original and coming up with your own product?

I made my own WTA out of an old Mayware Formula IV when I first saw the original in a HiFi News review. About 1985? Had plenty of fun playing around with different paddle shapes & viscous fluids. It sounded pretty good. Wouldn't have dreamt of selling one though!

Yes, it was on a deck a friend had put together by the time of this pic & he'd also been playing around with the idea of a 'Rock' style trough although perhaps not using that with the WTA clone. The other arm is a very early Forssell air bearing LT arm.

The original like what I have is a piece of joyous fuckwittery, but is in its own way beautifully engineered.

That twattery on the ubiquitous auction site looks like a heap of crap by comparison.

Cheap, mind you.

Looks like the TT equivalent of a rat bike. Excellent! :^
The container for the damping fluid was the lid from a Nescafe jar. I think this deck had 2 motors aswell. Tried all sorts of fluids. Syrup, washing up liquid, Jam & ended up with STP.
