What is the best alignment for 7" singles?

What is the optimum (if there is such a thing) alignment for playing back 7" singles only?

Stevenson, Baerwald, Lofgren etc.....

With a 12" LP we are looking at the outer grooves also, but with a 7" single this doesn't matter one jot, we are simply looking to optimise those 'inner' tracks completely, the most difficult to play....

Thought's, reasons why, stylus types for this purpose, do you care (?) etc all considered.

I don't very often play singles.

I use a 2 point sme so i'm guessing that covers both bases.
