I’m waiting on a Alphason sonata turntable to arrive that once fettled will need a tonearm. The obvious choice is a Alphason arm but they are rare things so I’m interested to hear from anyone that’s had success with this deck using a non Alphason arm?

Whilst there will be some synergy between deck and arm there is a bigger one between arm and cartridge. What cartridge do you plan on using?

There is an Ittok in classifieds that would be worth considering.
Put an oc9 on it and you’d have a great combination.
Alphason is the same measurements as Linn, and there aren't many arms with the same 211 spindle to pivot distance. The Ittok is a more than decent arm, as long as the bearings are spot on.

Good question, probably a AT VM95 paratrace with Rigbi body. Other option is a AT ANV150

I know Mike Knowles (aka mr Alphason) so I’m gonna ask him if he has anything ticked away. The ittok just doesn’t look right for me on this deck, ideally it will be a a bend tube

The Ittok remember needs a rest not attached to the arm, so you would need to drill a hole in the deck. If you want to loan a HR100S, I have one.
