Before buying my MF Combo X-150/X-Ray, I made a little bit of research and compared prices abroad.
No worries. The UK rip-off culture is well alive. These British kits carry the heaviest price tag in Great-Britain...
I found some more affordable prices in the US and in Europe. But I thought I would share this one with you, which turned out to be the cheapest by a healthy margin:

X-150: £567
X-Ray: £637
X-Pre: £567
X-P200: £637
By the way, this chap is not a "Hi-Fi dealer", he is specialised in Pianos and his own creation, the Oeone egg speaker: http://www.scanavini.ch/oeone.php
In my case, it would have made sense as I have some relatives in Switzerland and travel sometimes to this country. I would have had my cousin sending me that as a private parcel therefore avoiding UK import duties.
Only limitation: Warranty valid in Switzerland only and UK import duties.
But it's a high-street dealer, not a dodgy eBay seller.
