Right petrol or diesel isn't really an issue as we get a fuel card?

Then re map it so you should get 130 ish bhp or if you are a fashion victim a fiat 500, I would avoid the french stuff and left field would be the ceed but it may be under powered at 1.4

I've test driven the Fiat 500 1.4 16v Sport which I quite enjoyed.

Only prob is it is a little small to be doing 30,000+ a year.

fiat 500, deffo! its not yours, you dont need to worry about depreciation, but you will be driving it, and in honesty, thats the only one there that you WILL enjoy driving.

or you could go for one of the chevrolets if your into really shit cars.

I think i would be looking for a new job if my employer expected me to do that mileage in a mini type car. Sorry, just seems a bit much to me. Even the Jazz (which is the best car on the list, would be rather painful to drive all day long).

I hate to say it, but he only car on that list that is usable over 30k a year is the Octavia.

Bit of hobson's choice for your use - can you get whatever costs least in company car tax, then buy a 3yr old Mondeo with the saving and use that?

Personally, I'd have the Twingo Renaultsport because it's the only vaguely interesting one, but I wouldn't want to do 30k miles a year in it.

TBH i've done 8000 now in a 106 Diesel

The size of the car doesnt bother me.

Besides the new fiesta etc is pretty chunky, and the Fiat holds the road uncharacteristically for such a small car.

The Octavia is the sensible choice but we have the old Honda Jazz (05 plate) and its a bit noisy but quite good fun so if the new one is improved I'd give that a go.

Failing that the new Fiesta's do look smart and being a ford are probably full loaded.

I know its sad but I do like the look of the Seat Ibiza's - I'd go for something fun and funky!

30k in a supermini? they're having a laugh. the octavia is probably your best bet as has been said but the fiesta and the polo are both ok and as it's on someone else's pocket the renault clit is probably a good choice too. i'd probably go with the one that has the lowest tax and the most toys but none of them are going to give you a stiffy in the driving stakes.

The Ibiza Ecomotive is actually pretty well loaded, AC, 6 speaker CD/MP3, 74.3 MPG and 99 on CO2.

The octavia I can get is only the 1.4, that'd be worse on long distance motoring than most of the others i'd say!!

once you've got your short list together go try some if you're doing 30k a year then things like seat comfort, steering wheel adjustment, lumbar support, pedal positioning and all that boring crap will be massively important.

TBH with those choices, can you opt out???

If not, I would say Octavia due to distance - yes it won't be powerful, but longer drives, longer wheelbase (based on the Golf) does make them easier for eating the miles up. Especially if on the motorways.

Otherwise the Ibiza or Bravo perhaps. The 500 Sport would be funky, but not for 30k miles a year!!!

Does the fuel card cover private miles as well or not? If it does, there is a pretty hefty tax bill on them, in many cases it can work out cheaper paying for your own private miles.
