hi lads, there's a seller offering utterly counterfeit Vx cables on eBay. I did notify eBay about it but they seem not to care. should you feel like reporting it to eBay as well to save people from wasting their money do contact them, too - perhaps the more reports it the more likely eBay will remove the listings. here's the link to the cables> https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_o...+vx&_sacat=293

I've messaged pointing out they are extraordinarily good value, almost too good, so please tell me where you got them and why you have several for sale. Let see what bullshit they come back with.

I will report it too.

However, it would make for an interesting side by side blind listening test - the £35 copy versus the stupid money 'real' version at £1000 per metre. Could this be a special 'Scalford Spice' event? ( tempers could get hot)....

Lost the will to live here and gone. Thanks though

Seriously £3.50 a metre would be my very upper limit. As far as I know electrons have no regard for price.

You're getting me worried now. In a mad moment a couple of years ago I spent £'000s on this high end mains cable - please tell me it isn't fake!

I think that was the Limited Edition 'Stealth' understated version for customers who prefer their friends not to know the true extent of their wealth. I see that you also paid extra for the pretend paint flecks. You did well there as those versions are very rare and their price at auction has risen accordingly.

@TheFlash I think that unfortunately the game is up when you actually plug in your Stealth Limited Editions because then people will realise that you have been 'flash with your cash'!  I now see why you have that Wam name.  :)

They appear to be listed in several different languages, I wonder if that means on several different eBay's... yes, a quick check suggests each has a different item number.

This vendor has some 10,000 items for sale... most appear to be generic, which might mean they are fine or might mean they are falsely claiming components rather than finished product brands.

I just listed all "Audio Note" item numbers but the character count doesn't allow me to report them in a single complaint. (Here for reference so I don't lose them

Still, some on this forum would have it that all cable sound the same anyway so a different and positive way of looking at this would be to focus on how many people have been saved from spending hundreds of pounds they didn't need to spend to get exactly the same sound as if they had. NB. I am not excusing forgery here!

Good end result. No sure if my letting Peter Q know helped but normally companies are all over these forgeries once they know.

Nordost fake cables are getting rarer as the company hounded US e-bay.
