It was definitely stopped too early but the fact remains the lad was going to lose the fight for sure. Calzaghe was all over him.

Initially Id see it was ended too soon but rhen again what would be the point of carrying on, the lad was getting totally battered

You can't just cover up and take shots for thirty seconds unanswered . The ref is always asking defend yourself ie. throw something back. Manfredo would have got his arse handed to him on plate with that attitude. Joe's done 12 rounders plenty of times so if Manfredo thought he was going to run out of steam his strategy was floored. May have been a tadge early but the right decision imho.
