We have a winner please dont post any more suggestions.

Greetings wammers.

I am pleased to announce our newest creation: a high quality phono preamplifier. Which will soon be going on sale.

However its not quite the complete product yet.

As you can see from the picture below its looking a little bit plain. It still needs a name. And thats where we need your help.

If you can come up with a name that we end up using, we will send a yet unnamed phonostage to you for free. (Normal Retail price £120)

The only rule is that you must post name suggestions in this thread. First post with the name we use wins it.

A name is all we are looking for. But if you have an idea for a logo or something that might help sway the decision go ahead and post it.

Aside from the lack of a name, our phonostage is made in the usual temple audio way.

Its made in England, its small and built like a tank.

Usage is very simple. There is a low and high gain mode with a one input one output configuration.

The use of very modern technology and design techniques mean the performance is unrivaled in its price point.

Here are some of the features:

  • RIAA Equalisation preamplifier
  • Independently double regulated, dual Mono Configuration
  • Advanved Rumble filter
  • Low and High gain
  • Compatible with MM and some high output MC cartridges
  • Earth Terminal
  • High Quality low noise power supply included.
  • High Efficiency design will also work on Batteries

  • 3 Year Warranty as standard!
  • Completely Hand Made in the UK.
  • Hard wearing glossy finish.
  • Gold Plated Neutrik Connectors.
  • Illuminated self healing Power button with multi coloured glow.

At Temple Audio we are some of the most experienced electronic engineers in the business.

But we arent very good at thinking of names so I hope you guys can come up with something creative.

Update

Wow. I was not expecting 12 Pages!!!

Some very good and some funny suggestions. Thanks

Im going to have to get some help going through them all but I have a short list already.

One thing I should have mentioned is that it needs to be pretty short and sweet in order to fit on the little badge in the corner.

I suppose with all the brouhaha this has generated I need to officially pick a winner. Which I will do on Friday.

In other news our flagship Amplifier, the Bantam Gold has been reviewed by TNT Audio.

Click below to read that:

Or read about it on our website.

Bantam Golds are currently in stock for same day dispatch. Order before 3:30 and get it the next day (UK Mainland).

Best regards,

John Clayton

Temple Audio Phono stage is the only name we could come up with.

Bantam is the name id like to keep for the (digital) power amps really.

Just bear in mind we are engineers with no imagination whatsoever.

I am actually liking the MM suffix. Could work well as part of a range if we decide to implement the MC circuit designs we have kicking about.

Given the apparent predilection for naming the product after boxing weights, i give you:

Feather MM Phono Stage!

TA1000 MM

Then you can have a TA1000 MC

And when you upgrade the TA1000 MM you can call it the TA1100 MM etc. etc.

Audiophools love a good serial number based handle. :geek: :geek:
