Hi All...

So i have a massive AV amp powering little Mission speakers and im starting to feel guilty about the power drain as this thing gets HOT!

So i started looking at a class D high power amp and found the following ICEPOWER module:

https://www.profusionplc.com/parts/icepower250asx2

Then i found a lovely case and all wiring here:

https://www.ghentaudio.com/kit/asx250-sr.html

Can someone tell me if i put this together and plugged in a UK kettle lead would it work? Is it as easy as it seems? Theres gotta be a catch!?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Rob.

No catch. I have 4 of the Icepower  50ASX2 amps fitted in Ghent cases that I use to drive my 3-way active setup and they sound great. The Ghent cases and wiring components are excellent - assembly is all pretty obvious. You have to solder the speaker and signal leads to the external sockets, but the other connections are via ready made modular plugs - just screw/clip it all together. Couldn't recommend their stuff more highly.

As Tony has said above, within reason, yes. It is as simple as it seems.

Obviously there is mains power involved, so we would assume you can connect and/or solder the right bit to the right other bit, but apart from that it's totally straightforward.

There's one spread over my bench at the moment actually, because I needed a 'quick and dirty' way to get some solid state watts and I've got various spare cases.

The photos on the Ghent site pretty much show you how it goes together - but if you get stuck, shout!
Great..

Cheers Tony... yep the pics on the site show a lot... been trying to find the actual instructions but can’t seem to find em. Will order the box and the board, I think I may need some help confirming set up before turning the thing on! Best be sure... will likely be back in touch in a couple of weeks.

cheers

Pretty sure that the photos on the site are the instructions...I don't remember any written instructions coming with the box, but easy enough. Happy to help if needed!
