Not sure that that is the case. For example I just did a quick check on one of my favourite 1970's albums - Blondie- Parallel Lines. Fabulous album with loads of decent-ish offers on Discogs for around a tenner.
I think used records are coming down in price in the UK. A few years ago they seemed to be higher. Same with used turntables, several on the WAM sales were a long time selling even with some price drops. A few years ago these would have sold quickly at asking price.
