One of my favourite videos. LSD testing on British troops. Narrated in a Mr Chumley Warner style.

Never give a rocket launcher to trippy troops. Very silly.

It all goes a bit awry when private Jones climbs a tree to feed the birds.

:sw:

Microdot's, blast from the past!

Thanks for the ten years after tip, got a compilation of theres already, and they are local band for me so I had already heard of them a bit.

Just thought of another and don't know why i didn't think of it before.

The Dukes of Stratosphear - Chips from the Chocolate Fireball

This is actually an album by XTC made in the mid 80s under there alter ego TDoS. All original songs this is a fantastic pastiche of the music (late 60s psych)the band members loved as kids. The detail that went into these recordings is incredible and it's hard to believe this isn't a lost classic from the 60s.

Anyone who likes this kinda music MUST get this album!

Have spent all afternoon on last.fm searching for this kind of stuff from any era.

Currently listening to Abunai! which is excellent, have also found

Omnia Opera

Olivia Tremor Control

and loads of others.

Must dig out old Heads CD, v heavy...

EDIT all the Abunai! stuff seems to be deleted, anyone know where I can get any?

13th Floor Elevators is a good un, plus echo Hounslowdaves sentiments on Nuggets, i had it on vinyl which got nicked, but replaced ot with the 4 cd box set, from Fopp, who had just reduced it from a rather expensive £70 down to £35. Make sure you get the one that says,"Original artefacts from the first psychedelic era" as son of Nuggets is also available.

Havent read all the replies, but you should try some early Pink Floyd too. Oops..just saw one saying this......oh well..........
