I used to have a Citroen Visa GT of all things. Twas a great wee car, even if you did grind the door handles down a bit when going too fast round roundabouts. It didn't half have some wierd switches on it - the indicators were on a sort of drum thing that you rolled forward or back and didn't self cancel.

One of my cars was/is a Renault Clio.....not nice.

I've had numerous faults with it since we bought it from new, too many to mention really. Recently though I experienced a real cracker of a problem from it.

Driving on a local dual carriageway at about 50mph, I was merrily scooting along (if such a thing is possible in a Clio), when suddenly, and I mean suddenly, the bonnet catch fails,

:shock:resulting in the bonnet trying to do a backflip at some speed. The force of it smashed the windscreen to bits, buckled the front of the roof and left the bonnet looking like a piece of cardboard some delinquent puppy had been chomping on for comfort. It was mildly startling as you'd imagine and luckily I was not hurt, but there we are, what do you expect eh? it's French after all.

Here's the good bit. I then heard that this was/had been an issue withClio's and had happened on several occasions. This problemwas apparently sorted on the cars built after 2001, ha fuckin ha, my Clio was built well after 2001 and still tried to kill me, so I guess their statement was worth shit.

The repairs have now been carried and I've got to pick it up from Renault Cardiff, and scarily, drive the fucker home. Needless to say the Clio will be sold, I want no more to do with the thing.

Be warned.......buying Renault could seriously damage your face.

Have to say, i am going to do a slight back-pedal here, as watching the review of the Citroen C6 on Top Gear reminded me that i do have a soft spot for big Citroens -DS, CX, XM and C6 all yummy IMHO.
