Thank you. Yes, they’re near Bury St Edmunds. My wife loves the look of them. I prefer something more contemporary so I have no use for them. They are beautifully made.

I used to manufacture sanding sealers and lacquers for rank wharfedale up in yorkshire in the 70s   ..they were market leaders at the time..

sorry ot, would you recommend anything in particular for "resuscitating" 70's wharfedale veneer?

If the veneer is still intact.. several coats of a Matt sanding sealer..sanded between coats..

Then 2 coats of a melamine 2 pack lacquer this gives the depth and hardness required.... these are fast drying and preferably sprayed..

Morels or Fujichem..

If I remember most of the finishing on wharfedale natural wood cabs took a minimum of 4 coats depending on the "openness " of the wood grain...

If you really like em have it done professionally..  there are plenty of really good wood finishing companies out there.. brush varnishing unless you are very experienced never has the pristine finish on something that is going to be on display..

Satin finishes always get the best look out of the graining as opposed to gloss finishes..

These Dentons are beautifully made with real wood veneer. You knock them and they sound like wood (not that many speakers do...). I know lots of people love the look of them. They just don’t do it for me. Any offers?

I think I’ve seen some eBay adverts say that the items are for sale elsewhere, so may be withdrawn.  But, I also thought eBay wasn’t too keen if you withdrew when under bidding, as opposed to Buy It Now.
