This is true! Would be interested if they went to the trouble of bottling something with a bit more integrity ( yep, I watch Ralfie on YT), like the Glenlivet Nadura ( whose standard releases are just as uninvolving).

Lag16 is very nice, but Diageo has hiked the price considerably over the last couple of years for what is probably chill-filtered and not natural colour.

New arrivals... All Arran. The bottle on the left is the first single malt they ever released.

I still have a couple of bottles of their Founder's Reserve...we bought a couple of cases in bond back when the distillery was starting out. Paid about £15 a bottle including taxes.

Picked up an Ardbeg 10 today as a bit of a bargain. It was £48.50 at my local Tesco but with a Cubcard holder price of £34.50. Since I've not tried it before I thought I'd have one at that price! But on paying, it came up at the full price. Queried it and it turned out the labels on the shelf were badly laid out so where I thought this one was on offer, it was actually the one to the left. All credit to Tesco, they honoured the price without any bother at all. Now just looking forward to opening it!

I NEED HELP!!! Pretty please :)

I've been tasked to buy a bottle of Whisky as a treat for someone I don't know well. I can't even be sure he likes Whisky...

As it will be a surprise, I'm on my own. I'm thinking something decent but neutral so as not to be offensive to a enthusiast yet tolerable to someone less keen. Preferably not something easily off the shelf at a supermarket so it will be a bit special. Budget wise, around £40, less even better so my Mum doesn't spend my inheritance too quickly...

My advice would be Arbelour 12 year old can be bought from Amazon for around £35 . Not seen very often on shelves but is a decent drink without being a marmite type so unlikely to offend .
