I don't keep amps for long. They come in and out. I onto a valve trip at the moment.

The pm-4 is a great amp and a lovely sound but my current audio innovations s500 easily beats it into a cocked hat with my speakers.

I've done the valve thing, from Berning to 300b & 845 SET. For me, the PM-4 has the nicest "Valvey" sound I've had yet. It certainly seems to be a good match for my Impulse H2s.

I really want to get it done, but I'm afraid if the result is something more clynical, it will be going the way of yours.

Oh well, only one way to find out!

Pm5 appears to be slightly more powerful although I measured my Pm4 at 18W into 8 ohms in Class A

I've never seen the 5 or 6 for sale here though

there's pm5 on sale here. a bit hefty for a 25+ yrs old amp at 600E though.
