Morzine is ideal for beginners too i am told, as it has very wide pistes and miles of green and blue runs. I am looking forward to it enormously.

James.
Hi James,

That's correct! Morzine has some wide pistes and lots of blues and greens which are excellent for beginners and so does Chatel and La Linga by the way.

Anyway, I'm sure you will have a good time especially if you stayaway from The Wall.

Ok Saturday the 25th March looks good.

Perhaps while I'm away you chaps can agree on what kit to bring.

Papa, if you can bring your WB's I would wager we can cross speakers off the

"need" list. Lets see how they fair against my "proper" speakers/..

If I can make it (lift anyone
wink.png
) I could bring the JVC - got a rather nice custom built transport IIRC - might be good enough for a decent 'reference' (even if it doesn't have green LED's
tongue.png
).

its also got digital inputs - so you can do instantaneous test between built in transport and an external one.

Hopefully have the CD-7 as well, but I agree it would be nice to have a dedicated transport; like your Krell(It's a short drive from cornwall isn't it
biggrin.png
)

Don't you mean DAC and not transport in this case
tongue.png
. Like I use the CD-7 as a DAC for my DAT player.

Edit, :doh:Actually Bicky I see what your getting at

, so both statements are valid

nope - he's a touch too expensive for me
biggrin.png

ooh hark at me bitching about the competition
tongue.png
. He is a very nice guy to deal with though, and has some VERY nice items come through his hands - if you like high quality Jap Crap - he is the man to speak too.

PS The model I'm getting is later (and better) than the XL-Z900 that he has :green::minikiev:

PPS Its arriving tomorrow

will get some pictures up in the dealer classifieds ASAP - will also ring around about voltage conversion.

Bommer, Tones,

You are more than welcome chaps.

I think that is more than enough for numbers now, it will be a squeeze but should be ok.

Chaps,

I'm a little bit concerned that there are too many dacs being bought to the party. One is all that's needed, afterall it is supposed to be about the transports. If we try and use everything it will get very confusing and you will not get a conclusive answer to the question.

The other thing we need to sort out is cables, ie we need 4 co-ax that are the same.Perhaps we could getloan from one of the cable guys for the purpose of the test? And music needs to be thought about too, we could do with 4 identical discs. I could make up 4 the same. What's everyone's thoughts?
