I have never had any issue wet cleaning my stylus since the late sixties. I know of no one who has had an issue with wet cleaning.

I think someone has come up with this myth and it has been written into hifi analogue folklore frankly I think it a load of balls🤔

I have Audio Technica liquid and had to use it yesterday to remove a stubborn bit of gunk off the tip. It's only when I look at the stylus with a magnifier, I see how dirty it is. I've never had any issues with wet cleaning. I'm sure cartridge manufacturers don't use a glue that easily dissolves in a cleaning solution,

Absolutely Gary and the modern adhesives are so different now too an much stronger.

Good job I don't have to glue the styli on. There would be glue everywhere - on the cantilever, the cart body, my fingers...
